Dr. Gohar Jaffer is a licensed clinical psychologist who brings steadiness, curiosity, and compassion to her work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she understands the fast pace and pressures many families face—and creates space for reflection, skill-building, and healing.
Dr. Jaffer earned her undergraduate degree in Economics from UC Berkeley before transitioning to clinical psychology, completing her PsyD at CSPP-Alliant. Her clinical training includes work in primary care clinics, schools, private practice, and inpatient psychiatric settings, allowing her to meet clients where they are, whether they’re navigating everyday stressors or more acute emotional challenges.
A central focus of her work is supporting teens and young people navigating anxiety, depression, identity development, and family dynamics, though she also works with adults seeking support through life transitions, stress, or emotional difficulties. Her therapy style is practical, thoughtful, and strengths-based, integrating CBT, DBT, and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions). She works collaboratively with teens to help them feel understood and empowered, and partners with caregivers to support meaningful, lasting change at home.
At Brain Insights, Psychological Solutions, PC, Dr. Jaffer provides individual therapy, caregiver coaching, and group support. Her work is grounded in the belief that change is possible when we feel safe, supported, and genuinely seen.
She brings the same intentionality to her personal life—prioritizing time with family, finding calm through nature, and staying curious about the ways people grow and connect.
